- Overview
Begin with a trip to the top of magnificent Table Mountain in the revolving cable car. Table Mountain is one of the New 7 Wonders of Nature. The main feature of Table Mountain is the level plateau approximately three kilometers from side to side, edged by impressive cliffs. The plateau, flanked by Devil’s Peak to the east and by Lion’s Head to the west, forms a dramatic backdrop to Cape Town. Visit the colourful homes and cobble stoned streets of the Bo-Kaap.
The Bo-Kaap is situated on the slopes of Signal Hill above the city centre and is a historical centre of Cape Malay culture. The Auwal Mosque, established in 1794, is located here, and is the oldest Mosque in South Africa. Enjoy an authentic Cape Malay lunch at Bo-Kaap Kombuis. Complete your Cape Town City Tour with a boat trip to Robben Island Prison Museum with its rich 500-year-old multi-layered history. Nelson Mandela spent 18 years imprisoned on Robben Island.

Weather can affect cable car operations. Your Cableway ticket is valid for 7 days. We'll adjust the itinerary to include alternative viewpoints and spend more time at other significant city attractions.
The boat trip and museum visit takes approximately 4 hours total, including the journey across Table Bay and guided tour of this UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Immerse yourself in the Cape Malay heritage of Bo-Kaap and its treasure cove of history and culture, from the early days of slavery to the present. Robben Island and its prison buildings symbolize the triumph of the human spirit, of freedom and of democracy over oppression. The remains on the island as a landscape reflect the history of the island since the 17th century and all the attributes that convey its value.
