Our four-day tour of South Africa was made unforgettable by Rich! From day one, his enthusiasm and energy set the tone for the whole trip, and his punctuality meant we never wasted a moment of our time together.
What really stood out was how personalized the experience felt. He took the time to understand what each of us wanted out of the trip and built the itinerary around it. He organized two days of wine tasting for the parents, drawing on impressive knowledge of the region’s vineyards, while making sure the kids got their penguin encounter along the coast, for example. He struck a perfect balance for the whole group.
He also went beyond the typical checklist of historical landmarks. Rather than just walking us through sites, he introduced us to local people and brought us into small shops along the way, giving us a real sense of the culture and community, not just the scenery.
We couldn’t recommend him more highly!

We hired Richard to take us on a Private Cape Peninsula Tour for a day. He promptly picked us up at our accommodations and patiently waited while we gathered the troops to head out on our day trip. We were a multi-generational group spanning from 14-79 years old and Richard handled the group wonderfully. His vehicle was clean and well equipped and he shared many interesting facts as we travelled along our journey. He was flexible when we needed it and was a great conversationalist. We had a great day and would certainly use him again if the opportunity presents itself again. I would highly recommend him.

We had a truly wonderful tour through the Winelands around Cape Town with Richard Denny from Cape Ability Tours – a day we will remember for a long time.
The communication prior to our trip was already extremely pleasant and professional. Richard was very thoughtful and attentive to our specific needs as two active wheelchair users and organized everything perfectly. Even before the tour started, we felt we were in the best hands – and that feeling proved absolutely right.
In the morning, Richard personally picked us up directly at the Cape Town cruise terminal. We traveled in a very comfortable minivan towards Stellenbosch. During the drive, Richard – a true wine expert – shared fascinating insights about the region, its wineries, and South African wine culture. His passion and knowledge made the journey itself a highlight.
Our first stop was the beautiful Waterford Estate. The approach alone, with its breathtaking views of vineyards, mountains, and the stunning estate buildings, was simply spectacular. It is hard to believe you are in Africa – the scenery feels more like France. The wine and chocolate pairing was perfectly matched and an absolute delight. We were guided by a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic young host who explained both the wines and the chocolates in great detail.
Our next stop was the idyllic Postcard Café, beautifully located by a lake and surrounded by mountains. We enjoyed an excellent lunch there in a truly peaceful setting. Afterwards, we had our second wine tasting in the charming house by the lake – once again a wonderful experience in a unique atmosphere.
On the way back, Richard took us on a scenic drive through the surrounding countryside and parts of the university town of Stellenbosch, giving us even more impressions of this remarkable region.
Beyond the outstanding wine and culinary experiences, what made this day truly special were the engaging conversations and Richard’s warm, respectful, and natural manner. His completely relaxed and barrier-free approach towards us as people with disabilities meant a great deal to us. We felt comfortable, welcomed, and genuinely valued at every moment.

The best tour in Cape Town. Richard has been doing this for years and the knowledge he brings is top notch. We spent a great day going around the Cape and I learned so much about the area and the history. I also hung out with the penguins and ate at Richard’s favourite restaurant.
I highly recommend the tour. This isn’t your touristy mass produced touring. You will get hands on tailored tours with the best guide.

Richard recently took a group of us on an incredible day wine tour to the Stellenbosch and Franschhoek wine valleys. We were we treated to an amazing first class experience at four premier (off the beaten track) wine farms, sprinkled with Richard’s deep knowledge on the history of wine farming in the region. But what made the day memorable and truly special for all of us was Richard’s enthusiasm, wit and charm…we were entertained non-stop and at times were crying with laughter! Thank you Rich, we all thoroughly enjoyed the trip!

Did a Cape Town City tour the other day, we saw Robben island and learnt loads about the history, then went up Table Mountain, one of the 7 wonders of the world, just incredible. We ended the tour with the most delicious Cape Malay meal in Bo- Kaap, would highly recommend 10/10🤩🤩
